VALLEIN TERCINIER Lot 52 Grande Champagne

$1,000.00

Aged for a few months in new oak barrels in a dry cellar before continuing its maturation in red oak barrels in a humid cellar, this version was placed in a demijohn in 2010 to preserve all the intensity of its fruity character. Radiant with maturity yet surprisingly fresh in expression, its aromatic and gustatory palette has, over time, been rooted in the prestigious terroir of Grande Champagne, entrusted to the Vallein Tercinier family established in Saintonge since 1850.

Description

Tasting Notes

Colour
: Coppery orange.

Nose : Airy, noble. At first whiff, truffle notes literally emerge from the glass. Upon aeration, this earthy sensation amplifies, marked by superb autumnal tones (dry leaf, prune, pipe tobacco) and chocolatey notes. The aromatic palette is punctuated by an original and sunny fruity range (walnut, guava, grape, lemon).

Palate : Radiant, delicate. The mouthfeel releases flavors of salted butter caramel and fruit paste (orange, apricot). The mid-palate is also chocolatey (ganache) and empyreumatic (soot, burnt wood). Powdery (gentian, iris concrete), the finish is noble.

Finish : Long, stately. The start of the finish is both licorice-like, medicinal (mustard), oxidative (raisin), and minty. In the aftertaste, notes of saffron, wildflower (dandelion), verbena, and sandalwood underline the radiant beauty of the tasting palette.
