SHAKARA 12 ans

$95.00

This cuvée, named Shakara in reference to the Sanskrit term reflecting the South Asian origin of sugarcane, was crafted from local molasses, then distilled in a column still and entirely aged in Thailand’s tropical climate. Demonstrating unwavering generosity, its aromatic and gustatory palette is a beautiful alternation of classic and lush sequences. Over time, it has developed a solar personality resting on a remarkably integrated oak.

Tasting Notes

Colour : Coppery orange.

Nose : Both delicate and heady. Dried fruits (almond, walnut) mingle with scents of beeswax, heather honey, and elegantly toffee. Upon aeration, a lovely rancio reduction (apricot, eau-de-vie cherry) emphasizes its exuberant character.

Palate : Clear, lively. Dynamic, the mouth attack oscillates between flavors of sugarcane, exotic fruits (mango, papaya), and fresh fig. Then, notes of Candi sugar and salted butter caramel highlight a perfectly integrated oak.

Finish : Long, silky. Medicinal (mustard seed), the finish quickly evolves towards vanilla notes (flan). In the aftertaste, a fine layer of licorice gently covers the taste buds. The end of the palate is floral (jasmine, geranium, hyacinth) and resinous (thuja).
