BENROMACH 22 ans 2001 Organic New Vibrations

$510.00

Founded in 1898, Benromach experienced its first closure from 1931 to 1937. Again dismantled in 1983, it was bought in 1993 by Gordon & MacPhail. Fully renovated, it reopened its doors in 1998. The first Benromach Organic to appear in La Maison du Whisky’s catalog, this version bottled at natural strength comes from slightly peated Optic barley (10-12 ppm). Sprinkled with fruity and floral notes of rare complexity, its aromatic and gustatory palette strongly captures the countryside and bucolic character of the Speyside region.

Tasting Notes

Colour : Old gold.

Nose : Generous, concentrated. Superb notes of candied citrus (orange, mandarin), lavender honey, and hints of melon showcase the complexity of the first nose. Floral (violet, lilac), the aromatic palette then reveals elegant fragrances of beeswax and pine resin.

Palate : Firm, powerful. Purposeful, the palate entry is both exotic (mango, guava), velvety, and finely chocolaty (cocoa powder). Indulgent, the mid-palate invites you to savor a delicious quince jelly and freshly picked raspberries.

Finish : Long, silky. Naturally, the start of the finish is tenderly malty while new flowers (cornflower, carnation) diffuse their subtle and captivating fragrances. The end of the palate deliciously restores the rich texture of morning porridge.
