For New Vibrations, in the manner of a musician, John Glaser composed, note after note, a blended grain and a blended malt respectively named ‘A-Side’ and ‘B-Side’. Derived from the blending of two blended grains (32.4% and 3.1%) and a 15-year-old single grain (64.5%), ‘A-Side’ demonstrates a remarkable unity of tone. Simultaneously tangy, candied, and creamy, its aromatic and gustatory palette is a model of balance and maturity.

Tasting Notes


Colour : Deep gold.

Nose : Both suave and dynamic. Behind notes of wax and wildflower honey emerge tangy scents of candied citrus (lemon, grapefruit) and grated ginger. Aeration reveals more medicinal (ointment) and spicy (pepper, nutmeg) registers.

Palate : Both lively and creamy. With pleasant acidity (cherry eau-de-vie, lemon, pineapple), the mouthfeel reveals flavors of rice pudding, almond paste, and coriander. Candied fruits (pear, plum) soften the gustatory palette.

Finish : Long, concentrated. Mineral (chalky), the onset of the finish is tangy (citrus zest) and medicinal (mustard seed). In the aftertaste, gentle spices (cinnamon, ginger) and notes of toffee are wrapped in a fine layer of wax and salted caramel.
